Five Steps to Clean Your Gaming Chair
Whether you’re a gamer or not, we all know that gaming chairs can get pretty gross. You can always benefit from knowing how to clean a fabric chair because if you don’t take care of it and clean your chair, the build-up of dirt and grime will eventually lead to an unpleasant odor. Luckily for you, we have five quick steps to help make this process as easy as possible!
Research on the Internet
First, know what type of gaming chair you have and the material it is made of. Most gaming chairs are either leather or fabric, but some have both materials combined to make the chair even more comfortable. After you know what type of material your particular chair has, do a quick Google search with keywords like “how to clean xxx,” where xxx is the type of material that your gaming chair is made out of. This will give you some ideas on the best way to clean and sanitize it, whether with water or a certain cleaner. If you find yourself confused, you can always look for expert tips from trustworthy sites like geekyarea.com.
Use a Wet Sponge and Warm Water
Most gaming chairs don’t need a lot of maintenance or high-tech cleaning equipment to begin with. The first step to cleaning your gaming chair is using a wet sponge and warm water. You can spray the chair’s surface with some cleaner if you want, but we prefer just getting straight into it with our hands because that’s what works best for us.
Make sure that whatever cloth or rag you’re using isn’t too rough because the surface of your gaming chair can scratch if it’s not smooth. A wet sponge is generally the best type of material to use because you don’t want to scrub too hard and damage any part of the chair, especially around buttons or other features on the console itself.
Steam Cleaning with an Iron
If some stains aren’t coming off after you’ve used the wet sponge and warm water, that’s when it is time to steam clean your chair. Make sure you’re using a low heat setting on the iron because if you use too high of a temperature, then it can damage certain parts of the gaming chair or even light them on fire!
Remove Stains from Your Chair
The next step would be finding some stain remover or cleaner that you can apply to the stains on your chair after it has been steamed. If there’s still some residual staining, try using an old toothbrush with warm water and scrubbing out the material in small sections. If all else fails, use a good old-fashioned soap and water to clean the stains out. This is usually what we do when all else fails, but that’s just because it works for us!
Vacuum the Chair Thoroughly
Finally, once you’ve finished cleaning your chair with a wet sponge, warm water, iron cleaner, or any other option you might have chosen, then you want to use a vacuum cleaner on the entire thing. This will suck up all of the loose particles that might have come off while cleaning it and make sure there are no more stains left in any part of your chairs, like dust bunnies or cotton balls.
