My
My name is David Bialek and I am an operator for TP Provence, a subsidiary of Eiffage. TP Provence was established about 40 years ago and is based in Istres, south-east France. It has 160 employees and I have worked for the company for 21 years.
I operate a Hitachi ZX670LCR-3 on the construction site of an IKEA distribution and logistics depot in Fos-sur-Mer. The ZX670LCR-3 is digging a trench, where rainwater will be collected. A pump will eventually be installed here to take the water away. The 120,000m˛ building is due to be completed in summer 2009.
HITACHI
The ZX670LCR-3 was delivered in March 2008 and has approximately 900 hours on the clock. It has three different sized buckets, which makes it extremely versatile. It can either be used for quarrying or construction projects.
This is the company’s first Hitachi machine – one Hitachi excavator with three different buckets is all it needs! Hitachi became a certified supplier to Eiffage in 2007, so this machine is being put to the test in terms of performance and quality.
Experience
I have been operating the ZX670LCR-3 for five months. The soil is very hard in this area, so I have to work the machine at full power.
Compared to other large excavators, it is more precise and easier to manoeuvre. It is more powerful, faster and has greater stability. I also find the cab more comfortable.
The main benefits of this machine for the company are its reliability, the simplicity of its technological design and its overall performance. The lifting capacity of the ZX670LCR-3 is superior to other manufacturers’ large excavators.
Another advantage is that all of the machine’s components are easily accessible. The simple design allows for easy maintenance and servicing.
