My
My name is Pascal Layglon. My grandfather established our family business in 1955. Layglon has a good reputation in the local area, and my father, brother and I work hard to maintain this.
Our company is based in Tarascon, south-east France, and it specialises in agricultural work. We own a Hitachi ZX180LCN-3, which is currently digging trenches for irrigation in a field in Mouries. I started working here in summer, removing old peach trees. Once I have completed these trenches, new trees will be planted here.
HITACHI
We bought the ZX180LCN-3 in April 2008. It is the company’s first Hitachi machine and has 1,000 hours on the clock. It has a two-piece boom and can be fitted with 11 different buckets. We prefer to change and attach the buckets without a quick coupler. Although it takes longer, it means the machine can dig up extremely hard ground.
I first saw a demonstration of Hitachi construction machinery in 1992. At the time, there was no official Hitachi distributor in the area, but I was very interested. So, when Prowimat was established in 2003, we were then able to consider buying a new Hitachi excavator.
Experience
The Hitachi ZX180LCN-3 is powerful, comfortable and easy to manoeuvre. In terms of fuel consumption, it is also economic to operate.
The narrow tracks are particularly important for agricultural work. It also has a small, narrow bucket, which is ideal for digging deep, compact trenches.
The most important benefit of the ZX180LCN-3 to our business is its versatility. With a two-piece boom it can be made to reach longer or shorter distances where necessary. We work on a wide variety of job sites, so this helps us to be flexible with our customers.
