My
My name is Glen Ove Haagensen and I am an operator for Wiggo Rønningen Maskin AS in Osen, eastern Norway. I moved to Norway from Alaska in 1986 and have 25 years of experience in the construction industry. I have worked for this company for just over a year. My son also works here as an apprentice.
I operate a Hitachi ZX210LC-3 excavator for earthmoving, digging trenches and completing groundworks on an alpine ski resort. The work is in preparation for 40 cabins, which will be built here by summer 2009. A total of 460 cabins are to be constructed on the 2,000-hectare site by 2020.
HITACHI
Wiggo Rønningen has been a Hitachi customer since 2000. The company has a good relationship with official Norwegian Hitachi dealer Nanset Standard AS, which began when Wiggo bought his first machine, an FR160 wheel loader.
Since then, he has invested in several models, including this ZX210LC-3, which was delivered in November 2008 and has 1,500 hours on the clock. The company’s Hitachi fleet also includes a ZX250LC-3, an additional ZX210LC-3, ZX210LC, ZX160LC, ZX25 mini excavator and a ZW220 wheel loader.
Experience
The ZX210LC-3 is smooth and precise to operate because of the hydraulics. This allows me to work faster, which increases productivity – I can get a lot done in my eight-hour shift.
Compared to other manufacturers’ machines that I have worked with in the past, I think the ZX210LC-3 is more reliable and durable. The cab is spacious and offers good visibility. In fact, in terms of comfort, I can’t think of a better machine.
