My

My name is Andrea Tognoloni and I am an operator at Cevar SNC. The company is owned by brothers Roberto and Alessandro Vantaggi, and is based at Torre Calzolari, a small town near Gubbio, central Italy. It was established in 1997 and has seven employees.

Cevar specialises in general construction, road construction and groundworks across Umbria and the whole of central Italy. I am currently operating a new ZX14-3 excavator at the Cementerie Barbetti, one of the largest concrete plants in Umbria. We are creating space for a new drainage system in an area that is used for cleaning the company’s trucks.

HITACHI

Cevar became a Hitachi customer in 2004. The first machine was a ZX240, followed by a ZX130, ZX50U-2, ZX10U-2 and ZX30.

The reason why the company decided to buy Hitachi was due to the relationship it has with the official Hitachi dealer in Italy, SCAI. Our co-owner, Roberto Vantaggi, values the support he receives, particularly from those working in sales and product support.

Experience

I have used several brands of machinery, but I think that Hitachi models are better than its competitors’. They have greater manoeuvrability and the cab is more comfortable thanks to new features in the Zaxis range.

The most important benefit for the company is the quality of Hitachi machines, especially in relation to price. For me, the main benefit of the Hitachi ZX14-3 mini excavator is the hydraulics, which allow for smooth operation and good overall performance. The controls are also extremely easy to use.
