My name is Paolo Petrini and I am an operator for my son’s company, Petrini, which specialises in agriculture. I started the company 30 years ago in Vescia, near Foligno, one of the largest towns in Umbria, Italy. My son, Giovanni, took over the business 15 years ago and it now has seven employees.
HITACHI
Petrini owns one Hitachi excavator, a ZX60USB-3, which was delivered in February 2009 and now has 100 hours on the clock. Previously, Giovanni had had problems with a similar machine supplied by a different manufacturer so he decided to change to Hitachi.
The official Hitachi dealer in Italy, SCAI, was also able to supply him with the additional equipment he needed, including three buckets, a large drill and a mowing attachment. The excavator has a quick coupler system, so changing between the attachments is quick and easy. It also has rubber crawlers, which are suitable for use in muddy fields.
Experience
The Hitachi ZX60USB-3 is the best machine I have ever used! I appreciate the fact that it is easy to maintain. I particularly like the tilting cab, which makes it easy to take a look inside and change pipes and filters, for example.
I like everything about it, both aesthetically and functionally. It is extremely useful and versatile. The controls are responsive and easy to use. I like the displays in the cab and it also provides good all-round visibility. The air conditioning will be invaluable in the summer, when temperatures can reach 40°C. Without air conditioning, you can’t work!
The ZX60USB-3 is more productive than other machines I have used in the past and can do the same job in half the time. My son and I are very satisfied with it overall. We are pleased we made the switch to Hitachi.
