The ZX250W-3 arrived at Resag in September 2009 and is expected to work 1,500 hours a year, during normal working hours from 7am to 5pm, five days a week. It is the first of its kind to be delivered to a customer in Switzerland by official Hitachi dealer Probst Maveg.

The company owner invested in this machine because Hitachi was able to provide a solution with a shorter boom and special arm so that it could work at a maximum height of 8.6m. A motorway bridge runs over part of the site, so the machine had to be able to work beneath it.

The ZX250W-3 is also equipped with a special particle filter to meet strict Swiss exhaust emission standards. The excellent service package offered by Probst Maveg was also a factor in the owner’s decision to choose Hitachi.

Compared to the company’s previous material handling machine, the Hitachi ZX250W-3 is much quieter to operate. The cab is equally spacious, but the ergonomic controls are better and make the machine easier to manoeuvre.

The air conditioning is automatically controlled and precise, so I feel comfortable while I am working. The cab also has excellent all-round visibility, which is especially important for this site. I find the rear-view camera useful, and all the information I need to work effectively is displayed clearly on the monitors.
