My

My name is Luca Pacifica and I have been an operator for 15 years. I have been employed by Piselli Cave SRL since 2003. The Perugia-based company currently owns two quarries and also specialises in general construction and earthmoving. 

HITACHI

I have been working with Hitachi machines ever since I became an operator and have seen how they have developed during that time. I don’t always work in the quarry and so have used most of the Hitachi excavators in our fleet, including the ZX350-3, ZX460 and ZX870LCH-3.

I am currently operating the ZX870LCH-3, which has been fitted with a breaker. This was developed by Hitachi and the Italian distributor specifically to meet our requirements. The machine is currently working at one of our open cast quarries and is helping to produce materials for other construction projects.

Experience

I enjoy driving Hitachi machines. Operating the ZX870LCH-3 is easy. In fact, it’s like a toy! The machine remains extremely stable, despite the type of work being undertaken and the ground surface. As a result, vibration is also kept to a minimum. This is important when I am operating the excavator for a long time.

The fuel consumption has also been low while the machine has been working at this site. This has helped us to maximise the level of productivity.
