My

My name is Gianluca Rosetti and I am an operator for Tecno Strade SRL. The family-owned company was established in Perugia over 50 years ago and originally specialised in agricultural work. The business has now expanded into other areas, including earthmoving and road construction. We also manage the occasional demolition project.

The ZX350LCN-3 is being used to demolish a block of flats with structural problems in Perugia. For one-off projects like this, we choose to rent an excavator as we need a specific machine for the job. This particular model has been fitted with a six-metre boom which has been developed by Hitachi and its Italian distributor.

HITACHI

We currently have a wide range of Hitachi machines in our fleet including a ZX80, ZX135US and two ZX240-3s. The ZX240-3 has been developed especially for the Italian market.

We are really pleased with the high level of after-sales service and product support in Italy. The Hitachi distributor’s rental division provides us with a more cost-effective solution if required. We can also rent a machine before we decide to buy, so that we can ensure it meets our needs.

Experience

The first Hitachi excavator I operated was one of the ZX240-3s. My impression was that Hitachi excavators are powerful and easy to operate. The cabs are also designed for comfort.

The ZX350LCN-3 is extremely stable, which is important when working on demolition sites. In addition, the rear-view camera is an essential safety feature. I have also been amazed by the excavator’s fuel economy on this particular project.
