My

 My name is Michele Brunori and I work as an operator for the family-run Fratelli Volpi Snc. We are based in Assisi and were formed following an acquisition in 1984.

Initially, we only specialised in earthmoving, but have now expanded into quarrying and other general construction activities. The majority of our contracts involve tunnelling – to improve drainage and power supplies – or developing foundations for new commercial and residential buildings.

HITACHI

Our fleet of Hitachi machines move between sites depending on the requirements of the different contracts. We now have a wide range of excavators including the ZX30, ZX50U-2, ZX160LC-3 and ZX180-3. We have also recently purchased a new ZW180 wheel loader, which works at our crushing and screening facility.

Experience

The first Hitachi machine I operated was the ZX30, but I am now using the ZX160LC-3 on an earthmoving contract. The site is located behind a concrete works and the ground is very hard.

However, the power of the machine makes operating easy and the level of productivity is excellent. This is enhanced by the comfort of the cab – it has been designed to be a home from home!
