My name is Giampiero Becchetti and I own Fratelli Becchetti L&G SNC in partnership with my brother. In addition to helping to manage the business, I also work as an operator.
We were established in Assisi 16 years ago, as an earthmoving company in the agricultural sector. This was usually helping to prepare land for the installation of new drainage systems. We have now expanded into general construction and work on contracts throughout the region.
HITACHI
We have been buying Hitachi excavators since 2003 and are really pleased with the sales, service and level of product support.
We currently have three Hitachi Zaxis machines in our fleet – a ZX18, ZX50U-2 and ZX160-3. I believe that the quality of Hitachi is high and its machines suit the type of work which we are involved in.
Experience
The first Hitachi machine I operated was the ZX18. I have also used the ZX50U-2 to dig trenches for the installation of new electricity cables. Due to the confined space, the excavator’s short tail has been extremely useful. This is a good feature on a machine of this size.
The visibility from the cab is excellent, as is the machine’s overall productivity. I have definitely noticed a reduction in downtime compared to other similar excavators.
