My name is Francisco Lloria and I have been operating a Hitachi ZX350LCN-3 for five months. I work for Yesos Monrabal, a family-run business that specialises in extracting gypsum from a local opencast quarry in Tuejar, Valencia.
HITACHI
Having operated a Hitachi wheeled excavator in the past, I have noticed that the quality of the machines has gradually increased over time.
There are two ZX350LCN-3 excavators and a ZW250 wheel loader on the job site. My machine is fitted with a breaker for use in the quarry. The gypsum is produced for use on other construction projects.
Experience
I have always enjoyed operating Hitachi machines, but the difference between the old and new models is quite significant. The ZX350LCN-3 is more productive, so I am able to do more work in the same amount of time.
The main improvement is the cab – it is very comfortable and I especially like the seat. The controls are easy to use, too, and I am pleased it has air conditioning.
The machine is also very stable. The movement is smoother and lighter, so the vibration is kept to a minimum. Since September 2007, it has clocked up 900 hours and I have had no downtime. Overall, I prefer using Hitachi machines and I am happy to sit in my cab for hours!

My name is Rafael Monrabal and I am the manager of Yesos Monrabal, founded in 1960 by my parents. My brother and I now run the business, which is located in Tuejar, Valencia. The company continues to grow and currently employs ten members of staff.
We work in an opencast quarry, extracting gypsum. The materials are crushed and used for building purposes.
HITACHI
Yesos Monrabal has three Hitachi machines: two ZX350LCN-3 excavators and a ZW250 wheel loader.
I have built a sound relationship with my Hitachi dealer and the service they provide is always quick and helpful. I started using Hitachi machines for the first time over a year ago and am looking forward to adding to my fleet in the future.
Experience
I selected Hitachi due to the price and quality of its construction equipment. The power of the machinery is remarkable – ideal for my industry.
We have benefited from the ZX350LCN-3 excavators as they have increased productivity. There is more work done now within the same time-frame than with our previous machines. The durability of the Zaxis models has provided better performance and there has been minimal downtime.
The most important benefit to my business is the happiness of my staff. I am very pleased that all my employees now have greater job satisfaction. They have noticed the difference between Hitachi machines and those they operated in the past.
The Hitachi models are more comfortable, and the air conditioning and radio are major assets. The engine noise is very subtle, so the cab is quiet, which is great for our operators!
