My
My name is Peter Georgi and I have worked for Bickhardt Bau for 14 years. The company is 35-years-old, based in Kirchheim, Hessen in central Germany, and has approximately 1,500 employees. It specialises in road construction and is involved in projects all over the country.
For the past nine months, I have been operating a Hitachi ZX250-3 with an 18m long-reach. It is currently being used for landscaping and slope finishing on an industrial site in Kirchheim.
HITACHI
Bickhardt Bau has 58 Hitachi machines in its fleet. The majority are wheeled and crawler excavators, including a ZX140W-3 fitted with a tilt rotator, ZX210-3, ZX250LCN-3, ZX520-3s and four Zaxis mini-excavators. It also has three ZW wheel loaders.
The company has a strong relationship with Germany’s official Hitachi distributor Kiesel. It receives a high level of after-sales service from the Stockstadt branch, near Frankfurt.
Experience
The ZX250-3 is the first Hitachi excavator I have operated during my 20-year career. As it is the only machine I work with at the moment, the cab is very important to me. It is spacious and comfortable – there is plenty of room for me to stretch out and relax during my break!
I find the excavator easy to manoeuvre and quiet to operate. It moves relatively light materials quickly and efficiently. Since I started using the ZX250-3, I have been able to work faster than before, so it has increased productivity. Overall, I feel very proud to operate a Hitachi machine.
