My
My name is Gregoire Roduit and I am the manager of Bois et Sciages in Leytron, Switzerland. My parents also work at the company, which was founded by my grandfather in 1933 and has 12 employees.
We specialise in transporting and cutting logs at our timber yard. There are two machines on site for cutting the wood into different lengths and widths, and we sell approximately 6,000m³ per year for use in residential construction. Our customers include joiners, carpenters and builders.
HITACHI
Recently I purchased a ZX170W-3, the company’s first Hitachi machine. It was delivered one week ago and has a special attachment for gripping logs.
I first contacted the official Hitachi distributor two or three years ago to discuss which model would be most suitable for my business. I had seen lots of Hitachi machines working in the surrounding area. The service provided by Probst Maveg is important to me and I am satisfied with the advice I was given and my new Hitachi machine.
Experience
The main benefits of the ZX170W-3 are its lifting capacity, stability and versatility. With the attachment, it can transport logs not only around the yard, but also on the road that runs through it. No other vehicle is needed – it’s the only solution for this site.
Safety is an important concern for our company, so its rear-view camera is invaluable for the operator, so he can spot people working on site and also traffic passing through on the road.
Another reason why I decided to buy the ZX170W-3 and an attachment, instead of a specialist machine, is that when I want to sell it, it will be easier to sell to construction companies in different industries.
