My
My name is Josef Karasik and I am an operator for Transstroymechanizatsiya. Established in 2005, the Moscow-based company specialises in earthmoving and road construction projects throughout the Russian Federation. It has 1,500 employees.
I am operating a ZX350LCH-3 on a widening project on the Moscow to Minsk highway, 35km west of Moscow city centre. The road, built in 1929, leads to Belarus and beyond to Poland and Germany. It is being repaired and widened to four lanes each side on this 2km stretch, which is due to be completed by the end of 2008.
HITACHI
The company has been a Hitachi customer for three years. It now has 13 Hitachi machines, including six crawler excavators, two wheeled excavators and five wheel loaders. A new ZW220 is one of the latest additions to its Hitachi fleet.
Transstroymechanizatsiya has a good relationship with Russian Hitachi dealer Techstroycontract (TSC). It satisfies all the company’s demands and requirements for service and maintenance.
Experience
I have been working with excavators since 1984 and compared to other machines, the Hitachi models are the most reliable and easiest to operate. Fuel consumption is also better than with other brands of machinery.
The ZX350LCH-3 is so easy to operate and maintain – it seems to have been built with the operator in mind. At the end of a 12-hour shift, I don’t feel as tired as I used to when I worked with Russian machinery. I particularly like the air conditioning and the comfortable cab. Most of the time I work with bare feet, which shows how at home I feel in this machine!
The ZX350LCH-3 also handles heavy loads easily, which means you can do the same amount of work using less power than with other machinery. It has definitely increased productivity – it loads 2,000m³ of earth in a 12-hour shift without even breaking a sweat!
