My

My name is Heinz Kisters and I am an operator for P&Z, based in Viersen, west Germany. The company was established in 1982 and is now one of the largest demolition companies in North Rhine-Westphalia. It also specialises in recycling and waste disposal, and has a container service.

I have been operating a Hitachi ZX250LCN-3 for almost a year. I am using it to demolish a building in Duisburg that once housed water pumps to generate electricity. There are still live electricity cables on the site, so the excavator has to be very precise.

HITACHI

P&Z has 13 Hitachi models including ZX350LCN-3 and ZX210 excavators. The latest addition is a ZW250 wheel loader. The company bought its first Hitachi machines (two ZX850s and a ZX180W) in 2006 from the exclusive Hitachi distributor in Germany.

Experience

My overall impression of the Hitachi ZX250LCN-3 is that it is strong and easy to manoeuvre. Compared to other excavator brands I have operated, it is faster and more powerful, which increases productivity and helps me to get the job done quicker.

The cab is comfortable – I don’t feel any vibrations when the hammer attachment is drilling into buildings. It is also a stable machine and I feel safe while I am working.

Its speed and reliability are the main benefits to P&Z. Despite its power, it is also small enough to be transported to different job sites by the company’s trucks, which helps to reduce costs.
